Yamcon Responds to Lawsuit by Meade
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 9, 2004 -- Yamcon, Inc., the inventor of SkyScout(TM) "Personal Planetarium(TM)" technology, announced today that it has responded to the recently filed patent infringement lawsuit by Meade Instruments Corporation. The response was filed in the United States District Court, Central District of California.
Mike Lemp, the CEO of Yamcon, said, "Yamcon has always prided itself on the integrity in which we have pursued our business. We have total confidence that our comprehensive R&D efforts over the last 5 years have resulted in the development of technology and the granting of patents that are both unique and superior to the patent in which Meade is basing their complaint. We strongly believe that the suit filed by Meade is without merit and we will defend ourselves vigorously."
